Welcome at the Lima airport, transfer and time to settle at the hotel. Over the next few days, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the different facets of the City of Kings: the colonial, the modern, and the bohemian. We start by doing a walking tour in the historic center to visit the Plaza of San Martin, the Jirón de la Unión, the Tower Tagle Palace, the Osambela and Aliaga houses, as well as the churches of La Merced, San Pedro, and San Francisco; and the Plaza de Armas where we will find the Cathedral of Lima and the Government Palace. Aside from visiting the city center, we will enjoy some time by the sea in Miraflores and Barranco to see the city from a different angle and make some stops to savor the local cuisine. On night two, we will take a sleeper bus heading to Huaraz. 

If the time of arrival allows it, a visit to the Magic Fountains and or a local Museum will also take place.

Upon our arrival in Huaraz, the gateway to the picturesque Callejón de Huaylas, and after settling into our hotel, we will set out to discover this city as well as the charming towns of Carhuaz and Yungay, two cities surrounded by untouched natural beauty. 

Our exploration will extend to the mesmerizing Wilcacocha and Llanganuco lagoons, with the latter nestled at the base of the imposing Huascaran and Huandoy snow-capped peaks. Moreover, we will have the privilege of looking into the historical significance of the Chavín de Huantar archaeological temple, the Andes’ inaugural religious center dating back to 1,500-200 BC. Our journey will also encompass the captivating artisan’s town of Chacas, situated in the Conchucos valley.

We will follow the Callejón de Huaylas to the town of Caraz. Then, we will find the beginning of the White and Black hills (the two Cordilleras) that verge in the Canyon of the Duck. After going through 40 tunnels, we will reach the coastal desert of Trujillo, city of the eternal spring. 

We explore the colonial center of Trujillo and we will enjoy a step horse show and marinera. We will walk through the citadel of Chan-Chan and Huaca of the Sun and the Moon, remnants of the pre-Inca Moche culture. A walk by the sea around the Guañape islands, natural reserve for birds and sea lions; and time to rest by the sea in Huanchaco with its typical totora boats. 

During the morning, a tour of the Pyramids of the Warlock and the Cao Viejo complex is carried out. We will have lunch by the sea and travel to the city of Cajamarca, the city where the fall of the empire began, the meeting place of the Inca Atahualpa and Francisco Pizarro in the year 1532. 

We will visit the city center, its colonial churches, the rescue Room, the main historical monument of the city, and the local market. Also, Santa Apolonia’s Hill, the Inca’s bathrooms, the tombs of the windows of Otuzco and Porcon farm. 

A route at the gates of the Amazon. The tour passes through the typical town of Celendin, so it can then cross the impressive Marañon river. We will continue among the exuberant vegetation and company of the Amazonian birds until we reach the town of Leymebamba, while we make stops along the way. 

We will visit the mysterious town of Leymebamba, its stone church, the mummies museum of the Condors Lagoon, and the archaeological centers of Molinete and the Congona. 

The trip continues through the valley to the town of Tingo. We will go up to the recently inaugurated cable car that will take us to the old citadel and fortress of Kuelap with its colossal walls and complex architecture at more than 3000 meters high, discovered in 1843. 

During the visit to Chachapoyas, we will take a walk to the waterfall of Gocta in the middle of abundant vegetation where you can appreciate the variety of flora, birds, and butterflies. In the afternoon, rest in the city. 

We will enjoy a unique journey by car in the middle of the jungle that will take us through Amazonian crops of fruits, coffee, cocoa, etc. We will cross rivers, waterfalls, and tropical forests. We will visit a center of exotic orchids and will stop to share lunch with the native community. 

During the day we will visit the city surroundings and then, we will take an excursion to the Tingana Nature Reserve, considered an ecological Paradise due to its exceptional ecosystem inhabited by many species of animals, including river wolves, toucans, and monkeys. 

During these days we will take a tour of the Institute of Tropical Crops to learn about fruits such as cocoa and its uses. We will visit the Chazuta town and we will make an excursion to the Blue Lagoon to relax in its waters before vanishing the trip. 

We’ll take a flight to Lima, based on the scheduled return of the international flight. And for those who have acquired additional services, logistics will be arranged for them.
